Together with the client we try to identify the problem, asking questions to first understand the client's business and then describing his problem. 

After all this process we have identified that the customer is having problems installing the telematics system at the customer's premises when the CAN and D8 connections are already occupied by another system. 

Here the technician who installs the system needs a minimum of forty-five minutes to splice the telematics system cables with the existing one. In addition, there can be installation errors, improper connections, additional costs, and prolonging the installation time up to two hours, still not getting the desired result. 

With the problem well defined, our team of technicians starts looking for solutions. The solution must bring a minimum of 50% improvement in the four measurement categories:

• installation time

• installation errors

• initial and additional costs

• desired result

After much brainstorming, testing, improvements, and more testing, the team was able to find a solution for the customer's problem, meeting the standards set by us and the customer.

The solution found by our team of technicians, is the creation of a Y-Cable that has a 1 to 1 equal part for the already existing system and a part with the exact cables needed for the installation of the customer's telematics system. This is replicated for all three connections that the system needs. Now let's see how the solution presents itself in the four measurement categories set by us and the customer:

• installation time is reduced from min. 45 to 5 minutes, the Y-cables being a plug-in solution.

• installation errors is reduced to 99%, because the Y-cables are already directly configured for the system that comes installed.

• upfront costs are reduced by more than 75%, because installation time is reduced and there are no additional costs.

• the desired result is exactly to the customer's expectations and standard.

An additional point that has been brought to the customer with this solution is the passing of the safety test and the TÜV Germany standards, which again certifies the standards of the solution developed by CONNCAB.
